Seattle Percussive Dance Festival 2027

ABOUT

Project Convergence is proud to host the first ever Seattle Percussive Dance Festival! We welcome artists of all percussive dance forms, and audiences who love them, to join us February 19th and 20th 2027 at Broadway Performance Hall. The festival will be a weekend of collaboration and rhythmic conversation, and will provide opportunities for local artists to develop and showcase their work. The festival includes:

  • A residency program for selected artists

  • Two showcases featuring work from Project Convergence and artists in residence

  • A cross cultural jam session open to artists in residence and members of the public

RESIDENCY

We are searching for both emerging and established Washington State-based artists who are looking to create professional work for the stage. Artists should be excited to create, and committed to learning the fundamental business tools necessary for a career in the performing arts. Artists who are chosen will receive mentorship from our company’s directors, Vikas Arun and Apoorva Natarajan, regarding show development, choreography, budgeting, marketing, and much more (full list provided below). They will also have the opportunity to showcase their work for Seattle audiences on the Broadway Performance Hall stage. Applications are open to non-Washington residents*, however priority will be given to Washington-based artists. We welcome and encourage artists/companies of all percussive dance forms to apply for the SPDF Residency 2027!

*Please note, travel accommodations/stipends for non-Washington artists will not be provided as part of the residency

Final selections will be made by a panel of percussive dance choreographers. Artists selected for the residency will be contacted via email by the end of August 2026.
