At Project Convergence, our mission isn’t just to perform. Our mission is to to help local communities re-instill the joy of learning something new and to aid-them in connecting with their neighbors through the language of rhythm. In doing so, we hope to inspire communities to question the structures that exist in their daily lives that prevent them from experiencing these joys more often. We find immense pride in connecting with local communities off the stage, and our creative team has decades of experience with panels, workshops, assemblies, and master classes encompassing students from ages 8 to 80!
Possible lesson plans include:
Multi-Cultural Body Percussion Workshop: Re-discover the joys and being your own instrument while connecting with your community through the only universal language, rhythm.
Intro to Bharatanatyam and Tap Dance: Learn the basics of Bharatanatyam and American tap dance, while diving into the rich history of Indian and African-American culture to learn about the birthplace of these beautiful dance forms.
Non-Traditional Career Paths: Because percussive dance isn’t financially supported as much as ballet and modern dance, many of our dancers (and our directors) hold other careers. What does it mean to be a “multi-hyphenate”, and how does one balance their myriad of passions throughout their careers?
Finances and Skills for Creative Careers: What does it mean to pursue the arts as a career? How do freelancers make money, and what non-artistic skills are necessary for a successful career in the arts? Does an arts career necessitate a “full time” level of commitment? How can you stay engaged with the arts as an adult if you are not a professional?

While we have “standard” versions of our educational offerings, we strongly believe in curating our curriculum and agenda to the needs and desires of the communities we are in. Whether you are a local dance school that would like to organize a workshop while we’re in your hometown, a elementary school looking for a fun assembly, a college looking to give your students some “real world” training, or a Non-Profit looking to host a panel on diversity and equity in the arts space, we’re here to listen to your needs and curate a memorable learning and growth opportunity for you.
Interested in a panel, workshop, master class, guest lecture, or other educational offering? Fill out the form below and we will get back to you to curate a program that fits your needs!
